Apple towerThere is nothing quite like a small community festival and in Brighton and the surrounding community it seems like every citizen gets involved to ensure a fun time is had by all.

The themes of Brighton's festivals varying from the celebration of the apple harvest, the charm of the winter season, the return of water fowl to Presqu'ile and the history of the community.

Apple Blossom - is celebrated in early May in the community's of Cramahe and Colborne

Festivals and Events

Apple Blossom Tyme
is held on the last weekend in May in the communities of Cramahe and Colborne. The festival began in 1998 as a heritage festival as a means of celebrating spring and the start of the apple growing season.

Location: Downtown Colborne

Brighton Applefest

takes place on the last weekend of September.

Traffic is rerouted with most events held on Main Street. Parade, entertainment, dances, street fair, hay rides, BBQ, arts and crafts. Fun for all ages.

Rural Ramble - Third Week of August
where town and country come together
A two day self guided 25 farm tour throughout Northumberland County. Experience life on the farm, milk a cow, feed a sow, pet a lamb or calf and go on a hay ride.

Tour traditional and unusual farm operations in realistic and unusual conditions . Learn about food production and the importance of agriculture tour rural communities. Hay ride's, mazes, demonstrations, crafts, produce exhibits, demos and 'hands on' Meet the people who produce the food you like to eat. Get the whole family out of town and enjoy the country air.

Winter at Brighton Gazibo

Brighten Up Brighton & the Santa Claus Parade.
Event takes place on the 3rd Friday of November each year in the downtown business section of Brighton.

Switch on of street lights at 6:30 pm followed by a night time parade (7:00 pm) with Old Saint Nick himself.


Waterfowl Festival

is held each spring at Presqu'ile Park.

Brighton Winterfest:

Late January. Come out, enjoy and experience what winter in Brighton and our surrounding communities has to offer.

The weeks festival features free skating, children's programs, ice racing , dancing, band concert food, lantern walk and a giant bonfire in Memorial Park. For a complete program go to the Winterfest events

Presqu'ile Provincial Park offers a number of guided bird hikes and natural history videos.
